Support

Support Services

Support Officers provide varied support on a one to one basis to people living with HIV/AIDS.  This support can be in the form of but not limited to; financial assistance, liaison, advocacy, referrals, arranging volunteer care teams, housing issues, employment & training.

People living with HIV can access the services of a Support Officer by self referral or via referral by a health professional.  Contact Kim Brooklyn, Manager of Positive Services in the first instance on (08) 9482 0000 or email kbrooklyn@waaids.com


Counselling

People can access counselling by self referral or via their doctor or other health professional. Sessions can be face-to-face or via the telephone for people in country and remote areas. For more information on our Counselling service please click here.


One-to-one emotional support

Women’s Support Group

Throughout the year a number of social support groups such as morning teas, barbeques and dinners are held to enable women living with HIV to get together to socialise and provide peer support. Pos Cyber Chat

This is an internet chat group that meets on line once a week. It is safe and confidential, gives people the opportunity to meet other people living with HIV on line and is a fun and easy way to stay in touch with your positive friends.  The group is facilitated by Cipri Martinez.
