Since 1988 the Venue Outreach project has been targeting gay orientated venues such as hotels, nightclubs and Sex on Premises Venues (SOPVs), promoting safe sex practices and providing resources which promote physical, mental and social wellbeing of the patrons who frequent these venues. Venues have a continuous supply of free Safe Sex Packs, containing a condom and lubricant. The venues are also stocked with an array of brochures, pamphlets and posters. Venue outreach officers also provide face to face HIV and STI education, HIV and STI testing locations, a list of sexually sensitive GPs, provide safer sexual technique information and referrals for social and community groups.
